About The Real Taffy

Taffy in AlaskaTaffy Neighborhood was the pen name of Taffy Murray, a border collie who was adopted into the Murray family household by showing up at our front door as if she owned the place.

We are very happy she did, as we enjoyed her company throughout some very rewarding years and experiences.

Taffy loved her trips to Alaska, flying in a Super Cub, and laying in the clear bubble of a Bell G-2 Helicopter watching for dall sheep to bark at, below. Taffy also landed on the Ruth Glacier on Mt. McKinley (Mt. Denali) with the now famous Alaska bush pilot, Don Sheldon.

Taffy's neighborhood over the years included many places the average stray dog could only have dreamed about. Besides flying, she also enjoyed kayaking.

Taffy and Charlie Horse in Nevada

As for her friend Charlie Horse giving Taffy a hoseback ride, well that was fun until the time she fell of and broke a leg. After that Taffy preferred her own four feet.

The point is, Taffy had a wonderful life with us. And, we with her. This book/site is a monument to her memory.

We hope that Taffy's adventure may lead a reader to saving one of Taffy's friends from the pound.
